Terms of service
Terms of service.
By creating an account, asking for early access or using AgentJobson (together, the "Service"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Part 1: in plain language
This part is not legal advice. It describes what we offer and what we ask, written by the people who built it. If it and Part 2 disagree, that's a mistake on our part: tell us.
What AgentJobson does
You upload your resume and choose companies and job titles. AgentJobson reads the open roles on those companies' public careers sites, checks each responsibility and requirement against your resume with AI models, and ranks the roles from 1 to 10, showing the evidence for each verdict.
A score is an opinion, not a promise
- Scores and verdicts are produced by AI models following fixed rules. They can be wrong, and they only measure what your resume states.
- A high score doesn't mean you'll get an interview or an offer, and a low one doesn't mean you shouldn't apply. The decision is yours.
- Postings change and close. Check a role on the company's own site before you rely on it. We may miss a role, or show one that has just closed.
- We aren't a recruiter or an employment agency, we don't apply for jobs for you, and we aren't affiliated with the companies whose roles you see.
Your resume and your data
- Your resume is yours. We store it, and what we derive from it, only to run the Service for you.
- To score roles, we use two AI model providers. Anthropic (Claude) receives your resume, the profile read from it, and the postings. TypeSafe receives your profile with your name, contact details and other identifiers replaced by placeholders, and the postings, but never your resume file. Settings → Privacy in the app lists exactly what each one receives.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't use your resume to train AI models.
- Our staff can access your data only when that's needed to run, support or secure the Service.
- You can delete it. Settings → delete all my data removes your resumes, scans, runs and scores at once. To close your account too, write to us. Backup copies age out on their normal schedule.
- Upload only your own resume, or one you have the person's permission to use.
Your account
Keep your password and your authenticator app to yourself. What's done from your account is treated as done by you. If you think someone else has got in, tell us right away.
Plans and payment
- Every account starts with a free 7-day trial. After it, the account keeps what it has but stops starting new work until you upgrade. Nothing is deleted.
- Paid plans (Standard and Pro, listed on the pricing page) are bought in the app, and every plan has usage limits, such as how many roles can be scored.
- Before you pay, we show the price, what the plan includes, and whether and when it renews.
- You can cancel before a renewal. Unless the law or your order says otherwise, payments aren't refunded.
Fair use
Use AgentJobson for job searching. Don't use it to copy or republish job postings in bulk, to get around its limits, or to get at anyone else's data. The postings belong to the companies that wrote them: we show them so you can judge your fit.
Availability
There's no uptime guarantee. AgentJobson is new. We run it carefully and will tell you when something breaks. Careers sites change without notice, and a company's roles may be unavailable for a while. We may change or withdraw features, and we'll give notice before any change that would remove your data.
Ending it
You can stop at any time and delete your data yourself. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you which rule and why rather than closing it silently.
Changes to these terms
If these terms change materially, we'll tell account holders by email before the change takes effect. The version at the top is the one you're agreeing to, and it changes whenever the text does.
Part 2: the legal terms
1. The Service
AgentJobson (the "Service") is a hosted service that retrieves publicly available job postings, compares them with a resume you provide using automated and AI-assisted analysis, and presents scores and supporting evidence ("Output"). The Service may include usage controls that meter and allocate resources; these are part of your plan.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must give accurate information when you register and keep it current.
3. Your content
You retain all rights in the resumes and other material you submit ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process and transmit Your Content, including to our service providers, solely to provide and secure the Service for you. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit Your Content, including the consent of any person whose resume you upload.
4. Output
Output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. Output is not employment, career, legal or professional advice, and is not a representation by us or by any employer about your qualifications or prospects. You are solely responsible for decisions you make based on Output. Job postings are the property of their respective owners and are shown to you for your personal use in evaluating your fit.
5. Acceptable use
You will not, and will not allow anyone to:
- violate any law or regulation, or infringe any third-party right;
- submit content you don't have the right to submit, or content that is unlawful, harassing or harmful;
- distribute malware, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to, disrupt, overload or probe the Service or its infrastructure;
- access or attempt to access another user's account or data;
- circumvent usage limits, authentication, rate limits or other controls;
- scrape, copy or redistribute the Service, its Output or job postings obtained through it in bulk, or use them to build a competing product;
- resell, sublicense or provide the Service to third parties except as your plan expressly permits.
We may investigate suspected violations and take action, including suspension.
6. Fees, billing and renewal
A free trial is provided for evaluation, "as is", for the period stated at sign-up; when it ends, the account stops starting new work until a paid plan is purchased. Paid plans are billed as described at purchase. Fees are exclusive of taxes, which are your responsibility. A plan renews only as described at purchase, and you may cancel before a renewal takes effect. Except as required by law or expressly stated at purchase, fees are non-refundable. Non-payment may result in suspension of paid features.
7. Data and privacy
To operate, secure and meter the Service, we process Your Content and limited operational data, which may include IP addresses, timestamps, session identifiers, usage records, browser characteristics and diagnostic logs. We use this data to run the Service, prevent abuse and fraud, enforce these terms, and improve reliability and security. We use service providers to host the Service, send email and perform AI analysis, and we share data with them only as needed for those purposes. We do not sell personal data. Part 1 describes how you can delete your data.
8. Third-party sites and services
The Service retrieves content from, and links to, third-party websites, including employers' careers sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Your use of them is governed by their own terms.
9. Availability; no service-level warranty
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis with no uptime or availability guarantee. We may perform maintenance, and may modify, suspend or discontinue features, with reasonable notice where practicable.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms (including Section 5), non-payment, security or abuse concerns, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections 3 (license excepted), 4, and 11 through 16 survive termination.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, the website, the software behind them and all related intellectual property are owned by us and our licensors. These terms grant you no ownership and only a limited, revocable right to use the Service under your plan for your personal job search. Our names, logos and marks may not be used without permission. We may use feedback you give us without obligation to you.
12. Warranty disclaimer
The Service, the website and all Output are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express, implied or statutory, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that Output will be accurate or lead to any employment outcome.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or employment opportunities; and (b) our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (i) the fees you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim or (ii) USD $100.
14. Indemnification
You will defend, indemnify and hold us harmless from third-party claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these terms or applicable law.
15. Changes to the Service or these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new version and effective date, and sent to account holders by email before they take effect. Continued use after a change takes effect is acceptance of it. If you don't agree, stop using the Service.
16. Governing law; disputes; general
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will be resolved by binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules (or its Commercial Arbitration Rules where you use the Service for a business), before a single arbitrator, in English, seated in San Mateo County, California, or by video conference at your election; judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. Disputes will be arbitrated only on an individual basis, and each party waives any right to bring or take part in a class, collective or representative action. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in the courts of San Mateo County, California, to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.
You will comply with applicable export-control and sanctions laws. These terms, with any order you place, are the entire agreement about the Service. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
